We rented mountain bikes in Villa Angostura to get to Bosque de los Arrayanes (a Forrest) and back (12KM each way).  We were advised to take a boat there and bike back, but the both boats were fully reserved.
Beginning of trek is crazy hard.  Steep mountain start plus long staircase.  Annie is winded.  We meet an American who has just done the reverse trip who gives us some pointers.  Despite his serious mountain biking outfit, it was also his first time.  He’d fallen twice.  Advised about tree roots, sandy dirt, sitting back in the seat for balanced weight downhill, and about braking harder with the right (rear brake) so as not to flip. A girl from BA ahead of us fell twice.  We make it to the end.  In one piece.  The highlight was making it to the end to see cows and horses and the bosque de los arrayanes.  Tried to take the boat back.  We arrived 4:30, but the only boat avail was the last one at 7:30.  We decided to take it — with our bikes.  Managed to somehow miss eating lunch, but while waiting for the boat there was a tea house with only sweats.  We shared a Gatorade, beer, cake, and raspberry square. The boat ride took an HOUR!  We drifted alongside the peninsula realizing just how far we had come and how much of it was UPHILL!  Hooray for the boat home!

Kayaking Lago Puelo.  Argentina.  Patagonia.

Our guide had to take this video as our camera was locked in the secret compartment of another kayak (staying dry).

Today we drove to El Bolson for a crafts fair.  El Bolson is known for hippies— the hippies that came in the sixties and never left.  This translated into a delightful fresh fair lunch of organic produce on top of a veggie  patty on whole wheat bread with carrot and basil puree.  Mmm.. love those hippies!  Afterwards, we went kayaking at Lago Puelo National Park.  Video to follow.
